Imagine indulging in delicious local cuisine, connecting with rich cultures, and embarking on once-in-a-lifetime adventures—all while staying true to your ethical, plant-based lifestyle. With us, you can explore the world guilt-free, joyfully, and sustainably!

Eat sustainably

Did you know that choosing a vegan diet can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 73%? By skipping animal products, you’re saving water, protecting rainforests, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions—all while enjoying authentic local dishes. Travel should nourish both your soul and the planet!

Support local

We believe in responsible tourism—which means supporting the local community, not taking away from it. Staying in locally owned hotels, dining at independent restaurants, and shopping at small businesses. Whenever possible, we prioritize indigenous-owned businesses and cooperatives, ensuring your travel dollars uplift and empower the local community.

Giving back

We don’t just visit a destination—we invest in it. A portion of every trip’s proceeds goes directly to a local charity, carefully chosen to support and uplift the community. Travel should leave a place better than we found it, and with us, you can explore the world while making a positive impact.

Make vegan friends

Let’s be real—having vegan friends makes life so much better! No more explaining yourself, settling for just fries and a side salad, or feeling like an outsider. Our trips bring together like-minded travelers who just get you. Many of our past travelers have formed lifelong friendships (and even travel together again!). Get ready to meet your plant-based people!

Letter from the founder

Hi, I’m Anna!

I’ve been vegetarian since 2008 and vegan since 2017—so I remember the days when vegan cheese tasted like rubber, vegan chicken had the texture of cardboard, and my family was convinced I’d wither away without cow’s milk. (Even though I’m not a baby cow!!!!)

As much as I loved being vegan, for a long time, I saw it as a sacrifice—especially when it came to food and travel. I believed I’d never experience local cuisine the way non-vegans could, that my meals would always be a “lesser” version of the real thing.

The Trip That Changed Everything

In 2022, I took a trip to Guatemala that completely shifted my perspective. I realized that plant-based food wasn’t just an afterthought—it was actually an integral part of many cultures. Cows, pigs, and chickens aren’t even native to Guatemala! Later, while visiting Greece, I discovered that Greek Orthodox traditions include vegan fasting for Lent. Plant-based dishes weren’t some tourist-friendly invention; they were deeply rooted in history and tradition.

At the same time, I became more aware of the harmful effects of mass tourism—overtourism, the exploitation of local resources, and the struggle for small, locally owned businesses to compete with big chains. Finding and supporting truly local businesses was far harder than it should have been.

Turning Passion Into Purpose

In 2023, I decided to put my discoveries to the test and led a vegan group trip to Guatemala. That trip sparked something much bigger than I ever expected—and from there, Vegan AF Travel was born.

Now, I get to share the magic of authentic, ethical, and plant-based travel with others. Whether you’re vegan or just curious, I hope you’ll join us on a trip and see for yourself that you don’t have to sacrifice your values for an incredible, immersive travel experience.

We're called Vegan AF because we're proudly vegan. No dancing around it. No "plant based concept" , no sneaky verbiage, no acting like "vegan is a dirty word". We're vegan and we're proud of it.

See you on a trip!

xx,

Anna
